Our guest is Erika Slocumb. An artist, educator, and a scholar from UMass, currently working on the research and community engagement around the project Black Holyoke.
In a collaboration with the Wistariahurst Museum, Erika has been researching the archives of the museum for the past year, and also the History Room at the Holyoke Public Library, while and also compiling and documenting the oral history of black folks living in Holyoke, and the communities who have had a connection with the Paper City. Listen to this fascinating conversation, that also celebrates Black History Month.
