The Wistariahurst Museum and ArteSana, are presenting together Homespun – Hilandería, a 10 day pop-up exhibit, featuring textile and fiber art pieces, honoring 100 years of textile arts in Holyoke.
In this conversation with Kate Preissler, Director of Wistariahurst, and Katy Moonan, Director of ArteSana, we talk about the pieces of this exhibit, the relevance of the textile arts in our city, the women who formed the core of the historic textile industry in Holyoke, and the work ArteSana is doing, along with this beautiful collaboration with Wistariahurst.
One highlight of this exhibit is the party event Frock: Homespun Closing Party: A celebration with the arts community while you tour the exhibit in a festive atmosphere with music, drinks, and appetizers. This party is programmed for Friday, November 16th from 7:00 to 10:00 PM.
Homespun is open and available for the public from November 8 to the 18, 2018, at the Wistariahurst Museum, 238 Cabot Street in Holyoke, MA, in the following schedule:
Thursday, November 8: 12 – 6:30 p.m.
Friday, November 9: 12 – 4 p.m.
Sunday, November 11: 12 – 4 p.m.
Monday – Friday November 12 – 16: 12 – 6:30 p.m.
Friday, November 16: 7-10pm for Frock: Homespun Closing Party
Saturday & Sunday, November 17 & 18: 12 – 4 p.m.
