As part of our Media Literacy Program, we had a conversation with a group of students from the Ethnic Studies class at Holyoke High School, both, North and Dean Campuses, to talk about the importance of voting. On this session we talked about their thoughts on current issues happening in the country, and also this was the beginning of a process of engagement on conversations and discussions about politics, and social justice.
Exchanging points of view, getting them used to express and participate, find common ground on disagreements, and nurture their interest in becoming part of the new generation of voters, in a few years moving forward.
As you cast your vote, think about the voices and people who can not exercise this right yet, and set an example by making sure everyone in our community vote.
